The newest research conducted by <\/span>Flinders University<\/span><\/i> in Adelaide, Australia, shows that individuals with obstructive sleep apnea and insomnia are 50% more likely to die from a heart condition than individuals who don\u2019t have any of these sleep disorders.<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately, these conditions are widespread, affecting 10% (insomnia) and 30% (<\/span>sleep apnea<\/span><\/a> or SA) of the population. What\u2019s more, they frequently co-occur in the same individuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Researchers identified the possibly fatal risk of this sleep disorder combo by <\/span>looking into data<\/span><\/a> collected from over 5,000 Americans diagnosed with co-morbid insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea, a.k.a. COMISA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
