Overview of Eucalyptus Sheets

Sheets & Giggles offers lyocell bedding composed of a eucalyptus-made fabric that includes sheet sets, pillowcases, throw blankets, duvet covers, and comforters that can be bought both from the Sheets and Giggles website and on Amazon.

The sheet sets include one classic sheet, one fitted sheet, and one or two pillowcases, (depending on the size of the set). Of those who’ve tried these sheets, reviews show that they are available in seven eye-soothing colors in total: white, pearl, gray, light blue, purple, navy, and mint green.

S&G’s top and fitted bed sheets come in six available sizes.

Materials Used

Sheets and Giggles uses the pulp of eucalyptus wood to create a fabric called lyocell. After viscose and modal, lyocell is the third-generation of cellulosic rayon.

When comparing eucalyptus sheets vs. bamboo, there’s one big difference, and this is in the sustainability of the production process. When lyocell is produced, the waste is minimal, in comparison with the vast amounts of hazardous chemicals and fumes discharged from the production of bamboo viscose.

Furthermore, when producing lyocell, up to 96% less water is used compared to the production of cotton, as well as up to 30% less energy. In addition, no pesticides or insecticides are used during the manufacturing process.

The Feel of These Eucalyptus Sheets

This unique fabric absorbs humidity, and the 400 thread count ensures a breathable surface that has a cooling effect. With these eucalyptus sheets, any review will tell you that the cooling effect won’t let you “drown in your own sweat,” no matter how hot the weather is when you sleep.

Eucalyptus is also stretchier than cotton, but not overly stretchy. However, what really won our team over is the sheets’ incredibly smooth, soft surface with zero friction. In other words, the smoothness of the fabric is so remarkable that it will make you forget other materials.

The feel of these sheets is great, but we must acknowledge that for a healthy, sound sleep, one must consider buying a mattress that will be worthy of these sheets. To help customers out, we’ve done this year’s countdown of the best mattresses in the US market according to construction materials, temperature neutrality, feel, and selling perks.

Product Care

Any well-researched eucalyptus sheets review will note that this fabric is as durable as cotton, but this doesn’t mean you can use the same cleaning techniques as you would with cotton. S&G’s sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers should be washed separately on a low-heat cycle, or a cycle for delicate fabric.

They can be hung to dry afterward or tumble-dried in the no-heat program. There’s no need for the use of fabric softener when washing eucalyptus sheets.

Eucalyptus comforters should be dry-cleaned every 2–6 months and spot cleaned as needed. Throw blankets can be spot cleaned, dry-cleaned, or machine-washed occasionally (on cold cycles) when there’s a need for it.
