A TikToker Reveals the Right Way to Use Traveling Pillows

Long-haul flights are a nightmare for anyone who has trouble getting shut-eye while scrunched up in an uncomfortable airplane seat. But according to a TikToker, there is at least one thing you can do to make sleep a little more comfortable when the aircraft reaches cruising altitude.       

The TikToker, known as @Sidneyraz, claims that we’ve been using travel pillows the wrong way.     In a recent video on his account dedicated to life hacks, the TikToker claims the solution is rotating the U-shaped pillow.  

The clip titled, Here’s something I wish I knew before I was in my 30s, demonstrates “the right” way to use a travel pillow — by flipping it so that the closed part is in the front supporting your chin. Sidneyraz is then seen resting his head comfortably.     

The video left followers baffled and commenting on their shock, amazement, and surprise. Many of them acknowledged that they’ve been using the pillow the wrong way all these years.  

Sidneyraz isn’t the only one reexamining the way these travel pillows should be used. According to The U.S. Sun’s article on this video, some doctors have been advising travelers to flip the U-shaped pillow for years in order to prevent their heads from bobbing.

Some of Sidneyraz’s more than 500,000 TikTok followers blamed advertising for promoting the wrong way of using the pillows, while others finally understood why even the top travel pillows are uncomfortable. 

The video is yet another demonstration of TikTok’s role in informing the public about valuable tricks. Sidneyraz’s channel also offers hacks on how to properly clean a broom, peel an egg, and many other things you thought you already knew. 

The travel pillow video has already set a new trend, enabling passengers to sleep through their flights rather than tossing and turning in their seats.
