The GravityLux Mattress Review

Construction 

Next up in our review of WinkBeds, we will focus on GravityLux. This all-foam foam mattress features AirCell — a brand new type of memory foam. According to reviews, this mattress is 12’’ tall and consists of four different foam layers:

• The top cover is created from Tencel and is further padded with 2’’ of gel memory foam for added body contouring and pressure relief.
• Underneath this layer is the 3’’ AirCell foam, which prevents the mattress from trapping in heat.
• After that comes the 3’’ Zoned Progression Foam transition layer.
• Finally, the base layer is made of 4’’ Atlas Core Foam.

Firmness

According to other WinkBeds unbiased reviews, this mattress is about 6.5 on the firmness scale (10 being the firmest). The top layers are soft, while the support layers beneath it are firmer. Hence, we believe that the GravityLux mattress can be classified as a medium-firm bed. Keep in mind, though, that the company offers three different firmness options for customers, Soft, Medium, and Firm. In this case, we were referring to the Medium option of the GravityLux.

Comfort

Reviews of the WinkBeds mattress also claim that the GravityLux provides ample pressure relief for back sleepers. Still, we believe this is not the best mattress for people who consistently sleep on their backs; for instance, one reviewer claimed that moving around and changing positions was somewhat difficult. 

As an alternative for back sleepers, we suggest checking out Brooklyn Signature’s Hybrid mattress. On the flip side, we would highly suggest this mattress for side sleepers, seeing how the hips and shoulders sink into the mattress and help alleviate tension. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for stomach sleepers as their hips may sink out of line with their shoulders; we believe stomach sleepers require a bed with a firmer structure.

Temperature Neutrality 

The GravityLux is a great option for people who are looking for a mattress that will keep them cool during the night. According to WinkBeds’ real reviews, the GravityLux owes its cooling abilities to its dual layers of breathable foam, as well as the Tencel cover. Moreover, the gel-infused polyfoam and the AirCell memory foam layer also prevent excessive heat from getting trapped.

Edge Support

Sadly, the GravityLux mattress is not the best when it comes to providing sleepers with good edge support. • one made of 5-zone AirSpring support coils and
• the other of Talalay latex.

As for the perimeter layer, it is strengthened with ExtraEdge Anti-Sag Support coils. Thanks to this innovative design, the sides of this mattress are rather stable and supportive. Moreover, EcoCloud’s cover features organic cotton with 3-in-1 comfort technology, making the bed both cozy and soft.

Firmness

WinkBeds reviews give EcoCloud a 6.5 on the firmness scale (with 10 being the firmest). Thus, this mattress can be classified as a medium-firm bed. Even though the pocketed coils in the layers dominate the feel of the mattress, the latex featured on the top layer offers more comfort than expected. Most importantly, this bed is suitable for both combo sleepers and people who like to change positions during sleep as it offers plenty of mobility and “bounce.”

Comfort

Thanks to the plush top, the sleeper is able to sink into the bed without feeling “stuck” (due to the latex layer). According to a WinkBeds firm option review, this bed is most suitable for back sleepers, offering optimal pressure relief without too much sinkage. Back sleepers can expect to be positioned on top of the bed due to the pocketed coils and latex. As for side sleepers, reviews reveal that these individuals may feel slight tension in the hips and shoulders. Also, stomach sleepers may feel some discomfort in their lower back. Overall, we believe stomach sleepers should opt for a firmer bed.

Temperature Neutrality

Namely, EcoCloud’s cover is created from breathable wool and cotton which helps keep moisture away from the sleeper. Also, this bed has a lot of airflow due to the pocketed coils and the open-cell Talalay latex.

Edge Support

Based on numerous test results, the EcoCloud mattress provides exceptional support when lying or sitting close to the edge. We didn’t find this surprising, considering that the bed has lower-gauge coils around its perimeter.

Motion Transfer

Lastly, our WinkBed EcoCloud review will focus on whether or not the mattress provides sleepers with enough motion isolation. Sadly, this mattress doesn’t do a good job of keeping motion isolation at bay. In fact, couples or people sharing the same bed with kids or pets can expect jerking movement during the night. We believe that Talalay latex’s high point elasticity is to blame for poor motion isolation — the material is “bouncy.”
